After a hectic month with 42 engagements from the 1st to the 25th December, I was delighted to spend a quiet and enjoyable Christmas at home. It is always such a pleasure to participate in all the celebrations leading up to Christmas Day and one of the highlights for me was to visit South Tipperary General Hospital where I worked for many years. I also called to St Luke's Hospital, Clonmel and to the Ambulance Centre to visit the patients and staff. A wonderful welcome was extended by all that I had the pleasure to meet and I truly admire the commitment and generosity of spirit of all who had to work on the Day.
Having had a chance to reflect on 2006 I look forward now to a busy New Year ready to embrace all that it will bring. My sincere best wishes to all for a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year in 2007.
